Courtesy Call to the Financial Intelligence Unit of The Bahamas
The Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers (BACO) had the pleasure of meeting with the Financial Intelligence Unit, Bahamas (FIU) for a courtesy visit focused on strengthening collaboration between the compliance profession and one of our key national partners.
The discussion provided an opportunity to introduce BACO’s 2026–2028 Board, share our theme of “Exchange of Value,” and discuss our strategic priorities around membership, institutional partnerships, and professional education.
Most importantly, the visit created space for meaningful dialogue on opportunities for collaboration, including training and education, emerging typologies and trends, improving the quality of suspicious transaction reporting, sharing FIU guidance with the wider compliance community, and providing practitioner feedback on future initiatives.
BACO looks forward to continuing to build a strong and productive relationship with the FIU and working together to strengthen the AML/CFT framework, reporting community, and overall integrity of The Bahamas’ financial services sector.
