BACO Board Training 2026
The Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers (BACO) brought its Board of Directors together for a dedicated Board Training Session, reinforcing our commitment to strong governance, effective leadership and purposeful stewardship of the Association.
The session featured insightful presentations from:
Simmone L. Bowe who presented on the topic, "Building the Board: Teamwork, Leadership & Succession"
Davinia Bain who presented on the topic, "From Seat to Stewardship: Clarity, Accountability & the Role of an Effective Board Member"
BACO Past Presidents who held a panel discussion on the topic, "Institutional Memory: Lessons from BACO’s Past, Priorities for Tts Future"
The training provided an important opportunity for the Board to reflect on what effective governance looks like in practice - from understanding individual and collective responsibilities to strengthening teamwork, accountability, succession planning, and institutional continuity.
As BACO continues its work under our strategic theme, “Exchange of Value,” strong governance remains fundamental to delivering value to our members, the compliance profession, and our stakeholders.
The insights shared during the session will help equip our Board to lead with greater clarity and purpose, make informed decisions, preserve the institutional knowledge that has shaped BACO, and position the Association for continued growth and impact.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our speakers (Simmone L. Bowe and Davinia Bain) and Past Presidents (Endric Deleveaux, Natsaha Bastian, Fareda Sands and Shannon Smith) for sharing their knowledge, experience, and perspectives, and to our Board members for their continued commitment to serving BACO and the wider compliance community.
